Knocker by ntora Knocker by ntora
This a traditional door knocker. Now it is rarely found on doors of my hometown and this is my effort to preserve it to memory. Deviants from Greece will remember this :)
I love the greens of the rusting brass and the elegant yet morbid hand figure...

Really? they were very common on wooden doors here in Greece around the 20's. They were made of brass and matched in style the door handles. It was the polite and classy way to knock on the door. They disappeared along with the metal shoe cleaners (small metal bars to clan your soles form dirt before you enter the house!)
Glad you like it and nice to meet you!
(PS should I presume youlike hands ...looking at your avtar and all...?)

I find that hands are very expressive, and as morbid as it looks now, it’s pretty logical to knock on someone’s door with a hand but just not with your own…
